Introduction

Welcome to the ASTRO’S PLAYROOM Trophy Guide! Astro’s Playroom comes pre-installed on every PS5 console. It acts as a sort of tech demo for the new DualSense controller and its trigger effect. It’s a very easy, quick, and fun game for your first PS5 Platinum Trophy. Nothing is missable. Have fun!

Step 1: Play through Story while picking up All Artefacts & Puzzle Pieces & Coins

The campaign in Astro’s Playroom consists of 4 Worlds, each containing 4 Levels. There are also 2 Hub Worlds “CPU Plaza” and “PS Labo”. Additionally, there are 8 Speedrun Levels required for a DLC trophy. It’s a very quick 3 hour game.

There are two types of Collectibles: Artefacts and Puzzle Pieces. Collect them as you go through the story. If you like you can already work on Miscellaneous Trophies, or if you don’t want to deal with them now do it later in Level Select. Some trophies are tied to specific places in specific levels, others require interacting with Artefacts that are displayed in PS Labo (after finding the Artefact Collectible). Follow the Collectible Guide linked below, it shows all Collectible Types in chronological order.

» Astro’s Playroom – All Collectible Locations (Artefacts & Puzzle Pieces)

Also grab all coins you come across. You must use the coins on the Gatcha Machine at PS Labo to get all Gatcha Prizes. No worries if you miss any because you can farm them via checkpoint restart or by replaying levels.

Miscellaneous Trophies in Chronological Order (can get each within 1-2 minutes via level select):

  1. trophy Hell Diver – World: Cooling Springs / Level: Bot Beach
  2. trophy Twisting Metal – World: Cooling Springs / Level: Frigid Floes
  3. trophy Little Rolling Star… – World: Cooling Springs / Level: Frigid Floes
  4. trophy Keepy Uppies – World: Cooling Springs / Level: Hotel Hopalot
  5. trophy Jumping Splash! – World: Cooling Springs / Level: Hotel Hopalot
  6. trophy No No No Noooooo! – World: GPU Jungle / Level: Teraflop Treetops
  7. trophy Ready for the Proving – World: GPU Jungle / Level: Raytrace Ruins
  8. trophy Adequate, Boy… – World: GPU Jungle / Level: MT. Motherboard
  9. trophy Wild Arms – World: SSD Speedway / Level: Deep Dataspace
  10. trophy Pain! – World: Memory Meadow / Level: Gusty Gateway
  11. trophy Jason! – World: Memory Meadow / Level: Gusty Gateway
  12. trophy Wipeout! – World: Memory Meadow / Level: Fastlane Fields

Step 2: Speedrun (7 Minutes)

For a golden DLC Trophy “Run Astro Run!” you need to finish the 8 dedicated Speedrun Levels in 7 minutes combined (not needed for platinum). That means 7 Minutes to beat all 8 Speedrun Levels. This does not mean the main levels. Speedrun levels unlock automatically over the course of the game and they can be started from the CPU Plaza Hub. It sounds worse than it is. The levels are super quick and the time limit is very generous. With a little practice this won’t be a problem at all.

Step 3: Cleanup

Still missing a trophy? Get it via Level Select now. They are all quick to do. If you need some more coins for the remaining Gatcha Prizes, simply replay some levels.

That’s where the rubbish always comes flying.

Wipeout!

ASTRO’s PLAYROOM ADD-ON DLC

These DLC trophies are not needed for platinum. They are just some very quick extra trophies for 100% completion. They’re all very easy.

Play Has No Limits!
Cleared the game and got the New Generation artefacts.
First you must play through the 4 main worlds of the game. After this you can start the last levels of the game under CPU Plaza. Then you must finish two boss fights against T-Rexes. After the credits finish rolling, there will be one last bonus level. In this bonus level you get the 4 “New Generation Artefacts” which are in plain sight and easy to pick up.

  • PULSE 3D Wireless Headset
  • HD Camera
  • DualSense Wireless Controller
  • PlayStation 5

After picking up these 4 Artefacts and completing the bonus level, the trophy will unlock.

Run Astro Run!
Got a total Speed Run time of 7 minutes or under.
Over the course of the game you automatically unlock 8 Bonus Speedrun levels. These are selected in the CPU Plaza under “Network Speedruns”. You need to finish these 8 levels all together in under 7 minutes. This means 7 minutes for ALL 8 Bonus Stages.

It sounds harder than it really is. The time requirement is very forgiving and this shouldn’t pose any challenge whatsoever with a little practice.

Gravity Daze!
Made the CPU Chip punch the glass sphere, sending at least 10 Bots flying.
Level: CPU Plaza

From the starting point, hit the Astro Bots to your left and right to make them follow you. Walk with them to the glass sphere in the middle (on the floor where you start, not downstairs). Inside the glass sphere is a CPU chip moving around. Hit the glass sphere while 10 Astro Bots are standing around you. This makes the CPU Chip angry and it will start punching the sphere from the inside, this sends the 10 Bots flying.

I finished the game and currently stuck on The Last Guy trophy. I hit the bots and can’t even get one to follow me let alone 20. Am I doing something wrong or should have I done at the beginning of the game?

Hey! Just happened to me as well and I figured it out.

      SPOILER WARNING

If you haven’t beaten the final endgame boss (when you’re in the main area you’ll get that “you better go check that out” message) the bots won’t follow you around because if you look closely they’re all scared. Go defeat the boss and then when you’re back in the main area after all the credits are over, they’re act normal again and you can hit them to have them follow you. Just did this myself and got that 100%!

There is a section of the monkey climb where there are three bars to spin on and jump off of. If you go to the third one in the line and then start holding R2 or L2 right after passing the second one you will catch the last one and it should give you the trophy.

The difficulty should be at least a 3 in my opinion. The final boss and the speed runs do take a bit of skill. Very fun and smooth Plat/100% though especially since there are built in videos to help with the collectibles thanks to the new Activities tabs.

Quick tip for the second Artifact on Bumper Broadway. If like me you’re terrible at controlling the ball, hold the touchpad to brake and swipe while holding. It’s alot slower but you can move the ball while it’s stopped to make it trivial

Speed runs are definitely more difficult than this article suggests, I’d say 7 minutes to beat all 8 stages is definitely not “generous” and will take a fair bit of practice to beat.

Unlocking the areas is not tied to puzzle pieces. They don’t matter for story progression. You unlock the next level by simply beating the previous one.
By “last area” do you mean the final boss? The entrance to that world is on the bottom floor of CPU Plaza (so you must head downstairs on the right side of CPU Plaza first).

You can also do Wild Arms in CPU plaza, which has easy access to the machine gun.

The Platinum itself is easy but the DLC trophy for getting under seven minutes is definitely not easy. You have to be very fast on each level. The rolling ball level in particular is very hard to get a good time on.
